I’ve wondered about what to share here, and how I should go about it. How do I give this value to you, as a reader? The creative journey is often fascinating, but it’s also long and arduous and prone to change. And we have a tendency to shroud all of it in the smoke and mirrors of our trade, building (we hope) expectation with hints and teases. The process, by design, usually comes after the fact.
I’ve decided to turn that on its head.
Starting soon I’ll be sharing, with my currently 4 paid subscribers, the journey of creating a new IP from it’s embryonic ‘idea’ state - in this case born almost fully-fledged from a dream - to… well, wherever it leads! Hopefully a new series at some point, but not necessarily! It could as easily be a novel, or an illustrated book, or (stranger things have happened) it could get picked up for development in other media. I simply don’t know!
But I do know that there’s going to be a lot of fun ‘process’ to share - early scripts, concept sketches, and other unpublished ideas and stories that I will likely plunder to take this potential new project to the next level.
You’ll see how a story evolves, and shifts. You’ll get to know how I process my ideas, who helps with that, and how. And as we go I’d like to bring in other media too - video, WIP, time-lapse footage… all the fun stuff!
I shall continue with the same free content - updates on current work, plus more Kiazmus stories, and tales from my life in comics and in general - but if you’re interested in the above, please consider a paid subscription!
As always, very warmest regards!
Liam
